Douglas Luiz back to the Premier League? Leeds approach may be midfielder's only escape from Juventus misery with Man Utd yet to make an offer

Juventus' are looking to offload the midfielder just a year after he joined from Villa for €50 million (£42m/$58m) as they look to ease their financial struggles. Manchester United have shown interest in the Brazilian, but no offer has been made with Juve willing to part ways with him at the same price they paid before the financial year ends on June 30, as per Calciomercato.

Many have blamed former Juve manager Thiago Motta for not bringing out the best in the Brazilian, with former midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi going as far as to say that the coach and Luiz had no professional relationship. After Motta's departure, the situation did not improve as injuries kept him out and he fell behind in the ranks of new head coach Igor Tudor. With not many clubs showing interest, Juve hope a call from England - where he has shown his talent - is the only saving grace for them and the player.

Leeds have reportedly opened preliminary talks with Juventus over the transfer of Luiz. The Turin-based club is interested in the capital gains that will help manage the books for this financial year itself should the transfer go through before June 30. One thing is for sure: Luiz's future is certainly away from Juventus.

The Italian club are also looking to offload Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula to Nottingham Forest, who are reportedly willing to pay a combined total of €25m (£21m/$29m) for the duo. Weah was also omitted from the matchday squad for Juve's fixture against Manchester City in a bid to force him out of the club, a move which has been called a "disgrace" by the player's agent.
