Bruno Fernandes is a man of the people! Man Utd captain takes club employee made redundant by Sir Jim Ratcliffe out on lunch date

Since Ratcliffe and INEOS joined United as minority stakeholder in 2024, nearly 250 employees have been made redundant as part of their cost-cutting drive at the club. One such employee was communications officer John Allen, who served the club for 25 years.

While Allen was forced to leave the club almost a year back, he continued to keep in touch with the senior figures of the team. On Tuesday, the ex-employee was spotted catching up with Red Devils captain Fernandes as they went out for lunch. The duo were spotted heading to Juniper in Wilmslow, a hotspot for United players to enjoy a meal, according to The Sun.

In an interview earlier this year, Ratcliffe claimed that United could go "bust by Christmas" as he attempted to rationalise the cuts.

Ruben Amorim's side will be back in action on Thursday as they host Lyon in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final. The scores are level at 2-2 on aggregate.
