How Barcelona can win La Liga TONIGHT as Carlo Ancelotti & Real Madrid seek miracle to stay in 2024-25 title race

Barcelona's Clasico victory over Real Madrid on Sunday moved the Catalan giants seven points clear of their bitter rivals at the top of the table with just three games of the season left to play. The result means that Barca can win the title as early as Wednesday if Real Madrid fail to beat Real Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu. Should Real Madrid take the three points, Barca can be crowned champions on Thursday with a victory over Espanyol in the Catalan derby.

Real Madrid are facing a miracle to stay in the 2024-25 title race. Carlo Ancelotti's side sit on 75 points and must win their three remaining games to have any hope of retaining their crown. Such a scenario would see Los Blancos finish the campaign on 84 points but they will still need Barca to drop points. However, Barca already have 82 and need just two more to seal top spot. The Catalans possess the superior head-to-head record, which is the tie-breaker if teams finish level on points, meaning they are red-hot favourites to be crowned champions.

Ancelotti insisted his team hadn't given up hope yet ahead of the Mallorca match. He told reporters: "The league isn't over yet, and we don't want to hand it to our rivals. We want to finish well."

Meanwhile, Flick refused to get carried away after beating Los Blancos. He said: "We don’t feel like champions. It would be nice to win three titles and only need one victory now. [But] this is football. We are in a good position but you never know what can happen. We still need three points and every opponent wants to beat us."

Madrid's opponents Real Mallorca also have plenty to play for on Wednesday as they eye a spot in Europe for next season. Jagoba Arrasate's side sit ninth in the table but level on points with Rayo in eighth.

Real Madrid will aim to beat Mallorca and then finish off their La Liga campaign with games against against Sevilla and Real Sociedad before waving goodbye to Ancelotti. As for Barcelona, after winning the Super Cup and the Copa del Rey this season already, they will hope there are more celebrations coming this week as they close in on the league title.
