The Cote d'Ivoire international winger has picked up a useful habit of delivering end product in the biggest of English top-flight contests. At 22 years of age, full potential is beginning to be unlocked in Amad through regular game time.

He joined United from Atalanta in January 2021, but struggled to make an early impact and ended up taking in loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland. A breakthrough of sorts was made last season – which included a dramatic winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals – while 28 appearances have been taken in this term.

Amad snatched a 90th-minute winner for the Red Devils in their derby date with Manchester City on December 15, before rescuing a point late on during a trip to Liverpool. He has become just the third United player to score at Anfield and the Etihad Stadium in the same Premier League season.

United’s all-time leading scorer Rooney was the first to achieve that feat in 2004-05, before Dutch striker Van Persie repeated it when grabbing match-winning goals against Liverpool and City in 2012-13 – as he claimed Golden Boot honours.

Amad is now in illustrious company, with United working hard to put fresh terms in place with him and extend a contract that is due to expire in the summer of 2025. The youngster is fully committed to the Old Trafford cause and expected to put pen to paper in the near future.
