Real Sociedad v Barcelona Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Last season Barcelona ended an 11 year wait for a league victory in the city of San Sebastian, winning 4-2 at the Estadio Anoeta to end the curse despite trailing by two goals early on.

Ernesto Valverde takes his side to the Basque Country once more this weekend, looking for a fourth successive win at the start of the season.

La Real meanwhile have begun the campaign with a win, a draw and a defeat, although all three of those matches have been away from home because Anoeta has been undergoing refurbishment.

Preview

This fixture generally tends to be highly entertaining, not least because the hosts have found a way to go toe to toe with Barca.

La Real's record in their own stadium is strong, with the San Sebastian outfit one of the most consistent home scorers in the Spanish top flight.

Indeed, Asier Garitano's side have only failed to find the back of the net once in their last 24 home league games and at the very least they can do so again against Barca.

Tips and predictions

Both teams to score is offered at just 8/15 (1.53) but of more interest should be backing a Barca win with goals at both ends at 7/5 (2.40).

Before the international break we felt there was value in backing newly promoted minnows Huesca to get on the score sheet at the Camp Nou which they duly did twice, and there could be value again in opposing a Catalan clean sheet once more.
