Bio: I’m a news writer and editor with almost two decades of experience in sports journalism after graduating with a degree in English in Media. I first joined GOAL all the way back in 2008 and returned for a second stint more recently. In that time I’ve covered almost everything the game has to offer, the good, the bad and the ugly, and consider it a privilege to have built a career following a sport I love.

My Football Story: I grew up watching, playing and generally being obsessed by all things football. One of my earliest memories was going to watch my local team Kidderminster Harriers give West Ham an almighty scare in the fifth round of the FA Cup. I didn’t know it at the time, but a few years later I would play on the hallowed turf of Aggborough for Harriers Women in the FA Cup. And yes, we lost that one too. That was the highlight of a very short playing career but going on to work in football media has been the next best thing. I can also be found on the touchline cheering on my son’s team and enjoying watching another generation develop their love for this beautiful game.

Favourite Footballing Memory: There’s so many but managing to somehow be in the right place at the right time and able to sneak into San Siro to watch Italy take on Wales will take some beating for sheer fun value. A rare chance to watch legends such as Gigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Del Piero and Ryan Giggs up (fairly) close and on the same pitch was pretty special.

    Wrexham have confirmed that promotion hero Elliot Lee will leave the club in the January transfer window on loan. Lee is on his way back to full fitness after knee surgery but will move on in search of regular game time. Manager Phil Parkinson has also offered an update on Paul Mullin's future after his loan spell with Wigan was cut short and he returned to the Welsh side.

    Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has revealed his squad have been hit with a virus that has affected players and staff. The Blues were without Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens due to illness for their Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal and both players have been ordered to stay at home. More staff members have also been affected ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.

  4. Wenger's offside law blow! UEFA & FA against 'radical' plans

    Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hit a setback in plans to push through a new offside revolution. The 76-year-old has proposed a radical change to current rules which would benefit attackers but is now facing opposition from both UEFA and the British FAs. The governing bodies believe Wenger's plans are "too drastic" and would have too much of an impact on how the game is currently played.

  5. Chelsea sent 'formal letter' to Maresca & tinkered with bench

    Chelsea sent a formal letter to Enzo Maresca to remind him of his responsibilities before his departure as manager as his relationship with the club began to deteriorate. The club were also so concerned about Maresca's treatment of players returning from injury that they put the club's head of physical performance on the bench to advise the Italian about when substitutions needed to be made.

    Michael Carrick has told Manchester United what to expect from his team after being appointed as the club's new head coach until the end of the 2025-26 season. The former midfielder has replaced Ruben Amorim at the helm at Old Trafford and has promised to deliver an exciting brand of football. Carrick also admitted he can't wait to get started as he prepares for a second stint in charge of the club.

    Mikel Arteta says he's gunning for glory in the Carabao Cup to make up for previous failures during his time at Arsenal. The Gunners take on Chelsea on Wednesday in the first leg of their semi-final and face a Blues team under new management following the arrival of Liam Rosenior. Arsenal were knocked out at this stage of the competition last season by eventual winners Newcastle and Arteta wants his team to go one better this time around.

    Manchester United have come up with a four-man shortlist of potential candidates to replace Ruben Amorim as the club's next permanent head coach. Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique and USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino are on the Red Devils' radar, while Michael Carrick is expected to be handed the job on an interim basis until the end of the 2025-26 season.

  3. 'What a load of sh*t!' - Bellingham rages at reports of Alonso bust-up

    Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has hit back angrily at reports that he did not support manager Xabi Alonso during his tenure at Real Madrid. Alonso parted company with Los Blancos in the wake of their Spanish Super Cup defeat to Barcelona after just eight months in charge. There has been speculation about problems in the dressing room at Madrid but Bellingham insists he is not involved.

  4. Mainoo in Man Utd dreamland as Carrick quotes resurface

    Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo may just be in dreamland after some old quotes from Michael Carrick offering advice to Ruben Amorim resurfaced ahead of the former midfielder's appointment as interim manager at Old Trafford. Carrick has previously spoken highly of Mainoo and highlighted the importance of having academy graduates in the first-team squad at Old Trafford.

  5. Wrexham draw with Liverpool in secret match featuring Mullin

    Wrexham took a trip to Liverpool on Tuesday afternoon for a friendly clash at the Premier League champions' AXA Training Centre. Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac's side faced an Under-21 Liverpool team and returned home after a 1-1 draw. Club legend Paul Mullin, who has been recalled to Wrexham after a loan spell with Wigan Athletic, featured along with former Red Conor Coady and ex-Burnley man Jay Rodriguez.

  6. Klopp would 'seriously consider' ditching Red Bull for Madrid

    Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would reportedly "seriously consider" replacing Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid if they come calling. Alonso has left the Bernabeu after just eight months in charge, with Alvaro Arbeloa taking charge of the team. Klopp is currently working as the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, but it has been claimed he could be tempted back into football management by Real Madrid.

  7. 'Absolutely disgraceful' - Martinelli savaged for Bradley shove

    Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has come in for criticism after attempting to push Liverpool defender Conor Bradley off the pitch in the closing minutes of Thursday's Premier League draw with Liverpool at the Emirates. Martinelli tangled with Bradley after the 22-year-old went down and appeared to be in some distress. He was subsequently stretchered off the pitch and the fear is that he has sustained a serious injury.
