Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago will lock horns for the second time this year, this time with much higher stakes as World Cup 2026 qualifying action heads to Independence Park in Kingston on Tuesday.
Now guided by former England manager Steve McClaren, the Reggae Boyz endured a flat showing at the CONCACAF Gold Cup earlier this summer, but they remain among the frontrunners to punch a ticket to next year’s finals. They come into this contest on the back of a commanding 4-0 triumph over Bermuda on the road, a performance that underlined their firepower.
For Trinidad & Tobago, this is a chance to stake their claim as Group B challengers, with Curacao expected to be their main rivals in pushing Jamaica all the way. The Soca Warriors opened their campaign with a cagey 0-0 draw against Curacao, showing plenty of defensive resilience but little in the way of attacking edge.
