USWNT midfielder Morgan Brian completes move to Olympique Lyonnais

The 24-year-old U.S. national team star has finalized a switch to the French club, signing on until June 2020

Morgan Brian has completed her move to French side Olympique Lyonnais, signing a deal with the club until June 2020. 

The 24-year-old midfielder has played a major part for the U.S. women's national team in recent years, helping the side to the 2015 Women's World Cup title and earning 69 caps to date. 

Also signing with Lyon's women's team is Amandine Henry, who won the NWSL title with the Portland Thorns in 2017. 

Henry is returning to OL, where she had already made over 200 appearances in her career.

"Olympique Lyonnais is delighted by these arrivals, which confirms the club's desire to build a high-level squad that combines the experience of the best players in the world with the youth of tomorrow's talents," reads a club release from Lyon. 

Brian leaves behind the Chicago Red Stars, who she was traded to in the summer from the Houston Dash. 

The Dash selected Brian as the first overall pick in the 2015 NWSL College Draft.
