U.S. international Rubio Rubin moves to Danish side Silkeborg IF

U.S. international attacker Rubio Rubin has completed a deadline-day transfer from Dutch club FC Utrecht to Danish side Silkeborg IF.

Rubin, 20, joins on a contract until the end of the season, the Danish club confirmed.

LA Galaxy sign French midfielder Romain Alessandrini as designated player

The Oregon native broke out with Utrecht as an 18-year-old in the 2014-15 season, becoming a regular for the club. An ankle injury hampered his progress the following season though, causing Rubin to miss six months.

This season, Rubin made just one appearance for Utrecht's senior side, and has spent time with the Eredivisie club's reserves.

In a club release, Silkeborg manager Peter Sorensen said that he signed Rubin after a recommendation from former U.S. national team boss Jurgen Klinsmann.

Internationally, Rubin has been capped four times for the U.S. national team since making his debut in 2014.
