Premier League Betting: Leicester 11/2 for a top six finish after Tielemans signing

Even the most ambitious Leicester City fan wouldn't expect a repeat of the 2016 Premier League title win, but the Foxes will be looking for progress under Brendan Rodgers.

The former Celtic boss moved to the King Power Stadium to replace Claude Puel in February, and results picked up significantly with 6 wins in 11 matches to close out the campaign.

Having re-signed Youri Tielemans for a club record fee of £40 million, bet365 make Leicester an 11/2 (6.50) shot to finish in the top six this season.

Tielemans spent the first half of the year on loan at the King Power Stadium and impressed during his spell in the Premier League. The 22-year-old is the third signing by the Foxes, joining Ayoze Perez from Newcastle and James Justin from Luton.

There may be a significant name leaving the club in the coming weeks though. Harry Maguire continues to be linked with a move to Manchester with both red and blue halves of the city seemingly vying for his services.

Such a departure would be a blow for the Foxes although the East Midlands club have several centre-backs ready to step into the fray if required.

They include Turkish international Caglar Soyuncu and Filip Benkovic, who Rodgers will know well from his loan spell at Celtic last term but replacing Maguire would be a tough task.

Having finished ninth last season, William Hill make Leicester 4/6 (1.67) for a top 10 place this time around.

While the 11/2 (6.50) about finishing sixth or higher is a significant jump, there are question marks over Chelsea and Manchester United's prospects in the upcoming campaign.

Each side has an inexperienced manager in place and with the Blues also dealing with a transfer ban, it could be argued that at least one top six position is up for grabs.

Arsenal finished four points ahead of the Red Devils last season but they're viewed as the most vulnerable member of last season's leading teams.

Wolves have a chance to break the traditional “Big six” stranglehold on the top flight according to the bookmakers too, priced at 11/2 (5.50).

Last season’s seventh placed team will have to balance a Europa League campaign with their domestic ambitions though, and that may prove difficult given the extra workload and travel required.

Everton (7/2) are seen as the most likely team to oust one of the usual contenders and Leicester (11/2) are the only other team available at a single figure price.

Chelsea are 11/2 (6.50) to finish seventh or lower while United can be backed at 9/2 (5.50) in the same market with William Hill. Arsenal sit at 4/1 (5.0).
