Premier League Betting: Hazard and Mitrovic lead Golden Boot race but Aguero favourite

Sergio Aguero remains the man to catch in the Golden Boot betting according to the bookmakers after netting his fourth goal of the season at Cardiff City.

Although the Argentine does not lead the scoring charts, bet365 still make him 9/4 (3.25) favourite to be Premier League top scorer for just the second time in his career.

That haul puts him just above the two-time Golden Boot winner Harry Kane who, despite breaking his August duck, sits on three goals for the campaign and is priced at 7/2 (4.50) to claim yet another title.

Also on three goals sits the only man other than Kane or Aguero to win the award in the last four years, with Mohamed Salah reaching the mark against Southampton and breaking a three-match drought.

The Egyptian netted a record 32 goals last term and whilst he could scarcely have been expected to repeat such a feat, the bookmakers still make Salah 9/2 (5.50) after a middling start to the season compared to his exploits last time out.

All those mentioned trail Eden Hazard and Aleksandar Mitrovic at the top of the top scorers table, though, with each bagging five.

The Chelsea man is 11/1 (12.0) with bet365 to maintain his momentum and win the Golden Boot for the first time, whilst the Fulham man can be found way out at 25/1 (26.0).

Maurizio Sarri rested Hazard for the Europa League trip to PAOK. While not guaranteed to continue, if the Belgium international is going to be subject to midweek rotation - unlike those above him in the market - then that's a factor which enhances his appeal at the current prices.

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has outshone Salah this term so far and is available at 12/1 (13.0) after netting four times so far, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the same price after scoring his second of the campaign on Sunday.

Despite being on four goals, Romelu Lukaku is available at 14/1 (15.0), whilst Alexandre Lacazette is 33/1 (34.0) but will need to build heavily on his tally of 14 goals last term.
