Pep Guardiola's men claimed a list of records in an impressive campaign in the Premier League, setting a new record with a century of points

Gabriel Jesus' late winning goal for Manchester City against Southampton on Sunday saw the Premier League champions finish the season with 100 points, a new record.

Pep Guardiola's side had already secured the record for most points in a single season in the English top flight heading into the final game at St Mary's.

But Jesus took them into triple digits, making them the first team to complete the achievement, when he beat Saints goalkeeper Alex McCarthy after taking on Kevin De Bruyne's excellent pass, which saw the Belgian finish top of the assist chart with 16.

Jose Mourinho's Chelsea held the record beforehand, having amassed a total of 95 points in 2004-05.

It is one of several records City have collected this year. The 19-point gap to second-place Manchester United sees City beat the record, set by the Old Trafford side in 1999-00, for the biggest lead at the end of a campaign, while they have collected the most wins (32) and scored the most goals (106) in one season.

The Manchester side have been beaten just twice in the league this term, going down at Liverpool in January before suffering a home defeat to United.

The week after the upset at the hands of Jose Mourinho's men, the Blues wrapped up the title with five games to go, equalling the record for the earliest success set by United in 1907-08 and 2000-01 and replicated by Everton in 1984-85.

The season also included an unprecedented 18-game unbeaten run in the Premier League for City.
