Liverpool v Crystal Palace Betting: Premier League duo set to play out another enthralling encounter

Friday saw Liverpool play their second friendly of pre-season with the Reds recording a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium against Wigan.

While the result itself was unremarkable, the game saw the Reds' record signing Mohammed Salah make his debut and indeed score his side's only goal. The Egypt international is the Merseysiders' marquee transfer of the summer and they will be hoping he adapts quickly to his new team-mates.

Liverpool's next game takes place in Hong Kong in the Premier League Asia Trophy where they face Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

Palace have so far been quiet in the summer transfer window although they have added England Under-21 international Ruben Loftus-Cheek, while also bringing in a new manager in Frank De Boer.

The Londoners are clear outsiders for Wednesday's game hoewever with bet365 offering them at 4/1 (5.00) while Liverpool can be backed at 8/13 (1.61) and the draw is offered at 3/1 (4.00).

The two Premier League matches between these sides last season produced two entertaining matches with Palace winning 2-1 at Anfield and Liverpool triumphing 4-2 at Selhurst Park.

Indeed, games involving Palace last term were generally entertaining with the Eagles boasting one of the best attacks in the division coupled with one of its leakiest defences.

The price of 11/20 (1.55) therefore for over 2.5 goals in unsurprising, while backing both teams to score at 4/6 (1.66) is marginally more appealing. In fact, the last 10 meetings between these two sides have seen goals at both ends and while this is a friendly, backing a repeat makes sense.

Backing Jurgen Klopp's side to win and both teams to score at 11/5 (3.20) should appeal with this seemingly an intelligent way to invest in a victory for the Reds. Furthermore, it is worth remembering that each of the Reds' last six wins against Palace have come without keeping a clean sheet.
