Liverpool ended the 2022-23 campaign with a thrilling 4-4 draw away at Southampton, with Jurgen Klopp admitting that there was a bit too much excitement on show at St Mary’s. He has told BBC Sport: "Crazy game, a bit too crazy for my tastes to be honest. The start was really good, the finish was outstanding, in the middle it was not good enough, it's as easy as that.”

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi concedes that there may be departures from the Amex this summer. He has told BBC Sport: "Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo both have been incredible people, incredible players, I am really sorry for them if they will leave but they deserve to play in another level. We have to find other big players, it will be very difficult to find players with the same quality and levels but it is our policy. We are not a big, big, big team and we improve and sell the best players.”

Exits at Brighton?

Sean Dyche saw Everton collect the 1-0 win they needed from a home date with Bournemouth, and the Toffees will still be a top-flight outfit in 2023-24. Dyche has told Sky Sports: "It's a horrible game for all concerned at Everton but it's fantastic when you come through it and get things done. I came here as the man to do the job. I knew there was a heavy risk but I'm pleased we got it done. We have found ways of winning games and getting points so that's a good base to build on, but it does need building on."

‘Horrible game’ 

Spurs have missed out on European qualification, meaning that speculation will be ramped up regarding a summer transfer for Harry Kane. What does he have planned? The Manchester United-linked striker has told BT Sport: "It is part and parcel of being a footballer [speculation about him leaving] especially when you are at the top of your game. I have focused on this season and helping the team as much as possible. I am just looking forward to a nice break and some games with England."

What next for Kane?

Frank Lampard took in his final game as interim Chelsea boss as the Blues played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle. He told BBC Sport of bidding farewell to Stamford Bridge for a third time as a player and coach: "It was nice [to say goodbye to the fans], I really appreciate them. Chelsea fans understand the tough position we were in when I came here. Although we haven't got the results we want this season, it is what it is. I'm not too nostalgic, I've got a great bond with the club and I'll be back many times.”

Farewell to Frank

Dean Smith was unable to guide Leicester to safety as the club’s interim boss, and he does not know what the future will hold for him. Quizzed by Sky Sports on whether he will still be in charge of the Foxes next season, Smith said: "It’s not a question for now. I’ll have to think about it. At the moment it’s raw because we’ve been relegated."

Back for more?

Abdoulaye Doucoure netted the decisive goal for Everton, which kept them in the Premier League, but he admits that the Toffees need to improve as a collective ahead of next season. He has told BBC Sport: “Don't get carried away. I'm not a hero. Nobody is here. We work and play for Everton football club. We have to be much better than that. We need to realise the mistakes we made this season. Everyone showed passion at the end but next season we need to come back stronger and put Everton high up."

Leicester defender Jonny Evans has been reflecting on the club’s tumble out of the top tier. He has told Sky Sports: “Hard to take. We knew it would be a tough ask. We knew we had to win our game and hope something went for us. It didn’t. As the game went on we were asking the referee, asking the linesman [about the Everton score]. There were a few cheers but we didn’t know what they were about. We were trying to cope with that and focus on taking our game right to the end.“It’s hard to put a finger on things. Everyone wants to blame things. As a club we haven’t been good enough. We’re out of the league. It’s a great club. I have no doubt it’ll bounce back.”
