Lekhwiya draw brings Al Sadd back in QSL contention

The race for the QSL title is back on fire, with Lekhwiya dropping points after a draw with Al Wakrah

Qatar Stars League leaders, Lekhwiya dropped points for the first time since mid-November, with a 3-3 draw against Al Wakrah which opened the way for the chasing Al Sadd to gain ground and reduce the gap with the leaders to 3 points.

Lekhwiya almost lost the match against Al Wakrah, but managed to come back and save themselves an embarrassing loss in front of their fans after they fell 0-3 behind before halftime, but mounted a successful comeback in the second half to get the vital point to amount to 43 points in 17 matches.

Al Sadd, after having lost to leaders Lekhwiya in matchday 16, returned to winning ways in matchday 17 with an emphatic 6-1 win over Muaither raising their point tally to 40 points in 2nd position.
