Latest Premier League Odds: Liverpool 5/1 to be crowned champions after signing Fabinho

Despite losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid just days ago, Liverpool have wasted little time in securing another transfer target.

Brazilian midfielder Fabinho is set to join the Reds when the transfer window opens, having signed for the club in a deal worth around €45 million (£39m/$52m) plus bonuses.

The Monaco man will likely prove to be a replacement for Emre Can with the Turkey international seemingly set for a switch to Juventus as his contract expires this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is certainly not wasting any time in bolstering his squad ahead of next season, with Naby Keita also arriving at Anfield in a deal that has been agreed for several months.

Liverpool may have finished fourth in the current campaign, some 25 points worse off than the Premier League winners, but dabblebet see them as the most likely competition for Manchester City next term. Pep Guardiola's men have been installed as the odds-on favourites to complete back-to-back titles, priced at 4/6 (1.67).

The same firm are 5/1 (6.0) that the Reds win a first top-flight title since 1990, ahead of Manchester United (6/1), Chelsea and Tottenham who are both 12/1 (13.0) according to the latest Premier League winner odds.

Arsenal's decision to appoint Unai Emery has done nothing to their outright winner odds with the Gunners still seen as sizeable outsiders at 25/1 (26.0).

Klopp may be strengthening in the middle of the pitch and has also been heavily linked with a move for Nabil Fekir from Lyon but the more pressing issue comes at the back after Loris Karius put in a disasterous display in Kiev.

The German was at fault for two of Real Madrid's goals in the 3-1 defeat and with Karius having seemingly won the battle to be Liverpool's first choice goalkeeper over recent months, it now remains to be seen if the 24-year-old will retain that position going into the new season.

Liverpool's tally of 84 Premier League goals was second only to the record breaking total of 106 from Manchester City but conceding 38 times meant the Reds had the worst defensive record in the top four.

Addressing that weakness will surely be important for punters wanting to back the Merseyside club at 5/1 (6.0) against a side who set a sky-high standard en route to a third Premier League title in six seasons.
