European giants Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli will all face off in Group C of this year's Champions League, contesting one of a number of 'Groups of Death'.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds will be eager to put the misery of losing the last year's final to Real Madrid behind and make another push to win the competition, though face extremely difficult hurdles in PSG and Napoli.

French giants PSG – who sport neverending talent in the form of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani – will be eyeing their first Champions League win.

Liverpool were unfortunate to be seeded in Pot 3 during the Champions League draw after finishing in fourth in the Premier League and initially placed in Pot 2.

Following some unlucky results in the Champions League that didn't favour their seed position, however, Klopp's side will have to dig deep and outline a plan that will allow them to progress to the last 16 while also maintaining strong form in the English top-flight.

The Reds have a tricky open to their European campaign, slotted in between crucial Premier League and Cup fixtures against Chelsea (twice) and Manchester City, and Klopp will likely have to decide which competition to prioritise.

PSG will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of an early exit at the hands of Real Madrid in last year's Champions League after star forward Neymar was ruled out of club action due to injury.

Their only concern is the fitness of Uruguay striker Cavani, though will be keen to unleash the talents of Kylian Mbappe against Liverpool and Napoli.

The Italian side already met with Liverpool in pre-season, losing at the Aviva Stadium 5-0 in a friendly, but the European stage is, of course, a different one altogether – and the Serie A runners-up will not be repeating the same mistakes as they did in August.
