Celtic vs Nomme Kalju Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and prediction

Celtic's Champions League campaign continues against Nomme Kalju in Glasgow on Wednesday night.

The Hoops moved into the second qualifying round with a comfortable 5-2 aggregate victory against FK Sarajevo, whilst their Estonian opponents surprised North Macedonian champions Shkendija by winning 2-1 in Skopje to go through on away goals.

Latest odds

The Scottish champions are red hot favourites to progress to the third qualifying round. As such, it is unsurprising that bet365 offer just 1/20 (1.05) that Neil Lennon's men win in Glasgow's east end.

Nomme Kalju are available at 25/1 (26.0) to claim a famous victory at Celtic Park. The draw is chalked up as a 12/1 (13.0) chance with bet365.

Team news

Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor will be hopeful of retaining starting spots after scoring in the second-leg win against Sarajevo last week, but Leigh Griffiths played his first minutes since December at the end of that match.

The return of the Scottish international is a fillip for Lennon's men as they target a ninth successive Scottish league title this term, and the former Hibernian and Wolves striker may well be afforded some more precious game time here.

Preview

Celtic conceded in both legs against FK Sarajevo but went on to win both ties and so the 7/4 (2.75) quote for both teams to score could, therefore, attract some support. The odds compilers offer 2/1 (3.0) that both teams are on target in a Celtic victory in Glasgow's east end.

Prediction

Better value, though, could lie in backing the Hoops to enjoy an emphatic victory against their Estonian opponents on Thursday. Celtic are unbeaten in 13 Champions League qualifiers on home turf, winning 11 of those matches.

Furthermore, the Scottish champions have scored at least three goals in seven of their last nine home wins in Champions League qualification and there is plenty of potential for the Hoops to get amongst the goals here.

Lennon's men would love to record a big win and their opponents could find themselves thoroughly outclassed in Glasgow's east end. As such, the even money (2.0) quote from bet365 for Lennon's men (-3) to beat the handicap mark could represent real value here.
