Deportivo La Coruna v Real Madrid Betting: Zidane's side set for another goal-fest

August has so far been a successful month for Real Madrid with the European champions claiming the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-1 win over Manchester United as well as lifting the Spanish Super Cup with a 5-1 aggregate victory over arch-rivals Barcelona.

The win over the Catalans reinforced the notion that Zinedine Zidane's men will once more be the team to stop in La Liga, and the champions get the defence of their title underway on Sunday night on Spain's northern coast.

The Estadio Riazor used to be a difficult place for Madrid to visit with Los Blancos going 19 years without a win away to Deportivo La Coruna. That run however, has long since been banished and recent visits have seen Madrid run riot. Last season Los Blancos won 6-2 while their 2014/15 campaign saw them record an 8-2 thrashing.

In all, Madrid have won their last four matches in La Coruna scoring 18 goals in the process and Genting offer them at 1/3 (1.33) to claim another three points. The hosts meanwhile are priced at 9/1 (10.00) while the draw can be backed at 17/4 (5.25).

Of course there will be no Cristiano Ronaldo for the visitors yet the strength in depth of Madrid's squad means they should be able to triumph even without their leading all time goalscorer who is suspended.

In-form midfielder Isco was rested on Wednesday night in their Spanish Super Cup second leg win over Barcelona and he is likely to come back into the side, while Gareth Bale could also be back in the starting line-up after being an unused substistute.

There is plenty of firepower in this Madrid side who have already shown they are playing with confidence and there should be plenty of interest in the price of 3/4 (1.75) for them to win with a -1 handicap. For higher odds however the price of 9/5 (2.80) for them to win with a -2 handicap also looks generous, while over 3.5 goals in the game at 6/5 (2.20) also appeals greatly.

Seven of Madrid's last nine away games of the season saw at least four goals scored, and a repeat looks likley at a ground where they have racked up the goals in recent years.
