Precious Premier League points are at stake in south London on Monday night as Crystal Palace play host to Arsenal.
The Eagles are battling to preserve their place in the top tier of English football, but Sam Allardyce’s side suffered a setback in midweek as they surrendered an early lead in a 3-1 defeat against Southampton at St Mary’s.
Prior to that loss, Palace had won four consecutive Premier League matches – including 1-0 wins against both Middlesbrough and Watford at Selhurst Park - and the south Londoners will move six points clear of the drop zone if they can complete a hat-trick of home wins against the Gunners.
History, though, is not on the Eagles’ side, for they have only ever beaten Arsenal once on home soil – and that victory came back in 1979; Allardyce’s charges are chalked up as a 100/30 (4.33) chance with dabblebet to claim a historic victory from this fixture, with 14/5 (3.80) that the match ends all square at the end of 90 minutes.
Arsenal will surely provide a tough test for the relegation-threatened hosts; Wenger’s men are fighting for a place in the top four of the Premier League and the Gunners’ hopes of achieving that objective were bolstered by a convincing 3-0 win against West Ham United on Wednesday evening.
Arsene Wenger’s men, though, have won just one of their last seven Premier League matches away from home, losing five of those fixtures, and the north Londoners are priced up as dabblebet’s 5/6 (1.83) favourites to get back on track with a vital victory in south London.
Each of Arsenal’s last three away league fixtures has ended in a 3-1 defeat and there is a chunky 33/1 (34.0) quote that the scoreline is repeated for a fourth consecutive time and 7/1 (8.0) that the Eagles win to nil – a selection that would have paid dividends in four of the last five matches that Allardyce’s side have won.
There have been goals at both ends in just one of the last six Premier League matches at Selhurst Park and dabblebet offer 5/4 (2.25) that either side fails to find the net, but the Gunners have scored in each of their last 23 games in all competitions and there is plenty of potential for an open and entertaining encounter when these rivals lock horns.
Six of Arsenal’s last eight matches in all competitions has seen at least four goals scored and, with plenty to play for at both ends of the table, backing another goal-laden game could prove worthy of support once again when the Gunners visit Selhurst Park.
dabblebet's offer of 6/4 (2.50) that there are at least four goals in the game may offer punters a path to profit ahead of Monday’s match, for it would have landed in all but one of Arsenal's last seven away games in all competitions.
