Brazil's 4-1 win over Uruguay in Montevideo on Friday was one of their most impressive results in recent years and underlined the side's dominance of this CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying tournament.
La Celeste had not lost a home qualifier since 2009, yet a hat-trick from former Spurs midifielder Paulinho and yet another goal from Barcelona forward Neymar helped Brazil to their seventh successive qualifiying win.
They now sit seven points clear of second placed Uruguay at the top of the qualifying table and seem guaranteed a place in Russia next year.
Their opponents in the early hours on Wednesday morning are a Paraguay team who got back to winning ways on Friday with a 2-1 defeat of Ecuador and La Albirroja know they are just three points off an automatic qualifying place.
They are, however, unlikely to claim those three points at the Corinthians Arena where Paddy Power price Brazil at just 1/6 (1.17) while Paraguay are offered at 16/1 (17.00) and the draw can be backed at 6/1 (7.00).
Realistically though only a home win looks likely, especially considering Paraguay's form in front of goal away from home. Francisco Arce's men have scored just four goals in six matches on the road, with only Bolivia netting fewer.
Brazil, meanwhile, have conceded just twice in their last seven qualifiers - an own goal and a penalty - and look solid defensively; solid enough to be able to enjoy a night with few problems in Sao Paolo.
With the hosts in excellent form, and the visitors particularly goal-shy on the road, there could be some interest in the handicap market and while Brazil (-1) at 1/2 (1.50) may not appeal to many, Brazil (-2) at 7/5 (2.40) should hold some interest.
For our purposes, however, we will back the hosts to win to nil at 8/11 (1.73) which seems a logical selection and one which has paid out in four of their last five qualifiers.
