Betting: Manchester City title odds slashed after big win over Stoke whilst Anfield draw sees United fall away

Even after just eight games of the season, Manchester City look unstoppable as they chase a first Premier League crown since 2014.

The Citizens’ 7-2 demolition of Stoke City, led by the irresistible Kevin De Bruyne, took their goal tally to 29 for the season and firmly established themselves as title favourites.

This win, combined with a series of other results that went their way over the weekend, has seen City’s odds to win the league slashed to 2/5 (1.40) with dabblebet.

Pep Guardiola seems to have found the best form out of players who appeared to be struggling to justify their place in the squad, such as Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, and with the depth of talent available at Eastlands, it is difficult to see any other team beating them to the title.

Although Manchester United sit just two points behind them, their 0-0 bore draw at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime means they now sit at a tempting 4/1 (5.0) to be top at the end of the season for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

The online bookmaker do not have much faith in Chelsea retaining the Premier League after the Blues became the first side to lose to – and, indeed, concede to - Crystal Palace this season in a 2-1 reverse at Selhurst Park and, as such, Antonio Conte’s men are now out at 14/1 (15.0).

Also available at 14/1 (15.0) are Tottenham Hotspur, who look set to be the nearly-men again despite edging Bournemouth at Wembley on Saturday - their first league win at their temporary home.

After that, the odds lengthen greatly and Liverpool are quoted at a huge 40/1 (41.0) for a maiden Premier League crown, with Arsenal also quoted at the same odds after blowing a 1-0 lead at Watford to lose 2-1.

The Hornets have started this season extremely well and currently sit in fourth place on 15 points, having only lost once in their eight games, making the Londoners a whopping 750/1 (751.0) to ‘do a Leicester’.
