Arsenal v Chelsea Betting Preview: Blues hold out hope on Hazard heroics

With Alexis Sanchez now gone, the Arsenal players will be aiming to prove he will not be missed when Chelsea visit the Emirates Stadium in Wednesday’s League Cup semi-final.

The Gunners thrashed Crystal Palace 4-1 without the Chilean star on Saturday, with Alexandre Lacazette scoring his first goal in 10 games.

Lacazette the favourite

Having arrived for a club record fee in the summer, the France international is available at 11/2 (6.50) with Betfair Sportsbook to take a step towards justifying that price tag by opening the scoring in this big game.

With both Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck out injured, Lacazette is left as the only recognisable goalscorer and is priced at 6/4 (2.50) to score anytime.

The departure of Sanchez puts more onus on Mesut Ozil, who is on offer at 16/5 (4.20) to score for the fourth game in 10.

Alex Iwobi is also available at 16/5 (4.20) anytime and Aaron Ramsey is  10/3 (4.33) .

Hazard the value bet

For Chelsea, who will be without the injured Alvaro Morata, Eden Hazard is the  5/1 (6.00) favourite to seize the initiative once again by breaking the deadlock.

The Belgian struck at this ground in the league just three weeks ago and anytime odds of 8/5 (2.60) look like solid value.

That price certainly looks more appealing than the 9/5 (2.80) odds available on Michy Batshuayi adding to his goal against Norwich City in the FA Cup last week.

In fact, Pedro at 11/4 (3.75) and Willian at 7/2 (4.50)  offer more temptation, having scored 12 goals between them so far this campaign.
