Before this season, the record number of wins for a single Premier League campaign was 30 – a mark set by Antonio Conte's Chelsea a year ago.

However, Gabriel Jesus' late winner at Southampton took City to 32 victories, which means that they now also have the overall record for an English top-flight season – previously held by Tottenham Hotspur, who recorded 31 wins in the old First Division in 1960-61.

Chelsea's 2004-05 side loved travelling, winning 15 times away from home.

City, though, made it a record-breaking 16 victories on the road with their dramatic success on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho's Chelsea racked up 95 points in winning the 2004-05 Premier League title but that historic haul has now been bettered by City, who reached 97 points with their win over Brighton in midweek before then becoming centurions at Southampton.

As already mentioned, no other team had ever reached the 100-point mark across a single campaign in England's top flight.

Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea scored 103 goals in claiming the 2009-10 Premier League title but City surpassed that tally thanks to Wednesday's 3-1 win over Brighton.

Gabriel Jesus' late strike at Southampton then made it a whopping 106 goals in total for Pep's troops.

In addition, their goal difference of plus 79 is the biggest in Premier League history.

Manchester United finished 18 points ahead of Arsenal in 1999-2000 but the record for the largest margin of victory also now belongs to City.

Indeed, the champions came home 19 points clear of their city rivals, thus making this the most dominant campaign the Premier League has ever seen.
