Alaves vs Barcelona Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Barcelona travel to the Estadio Mendizorroza on Tuesday hoping to take a big step towards the La Liga title.

A win for Ernesto Valverde's team against Alaves, coupled with a defeat for Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening would see the Blaugrana crowned champions for the eighth time in the last 11 years.

Barca will be confident of recording a victory against an Alaves side who have slipped down the table following a run of five games without a win.

Latest odds

The Catalans beat Alaves 3-0 at the Camp Nou on the opening day of the season and are offered at 3/4 (1.75) with bet365 for another victory. The hosts on Tuesday evening can be backed at 10/3 (4.33) with the draw at 14/5 (3.80).

Team news

The visitors have no major injury concerns but having played on Saturday evening and with a Champions League semi-final coming up next week, Valvderde may chose to rotate his squad. Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Philippe Coutinho were all on the bench at the weekend and could all come back into the starting eleven.

Alaves' only injury is winger Burgui, who is out for the rest of the campaign.

Preview

Saturday night saw Barcelona barely get out of second gear in beating Real Sociedad 2-1 at the Camp Nou.

The champions are likely to retain their title because of their ability to win matches even when not playing particularly well, meaning they will not have to necessarily be at their best on Tuesday.

Alaves Barcelona

Alaves have little to play for and enjoyed a magnificent opening half of the season which all but guaranteed them safety, but have tailed off since the turn of the year - which was to be expected.

Indeed, their early season solidity has also disappeared as Aberlardo's side have conceded in each of their last eight matches and Barcelona should be able to record a win in Vitoria.

Tips and predictions

The price of 3/4 (1.75) for an away win should appeal, while backing Barca to win with a -1 handicap at 15/8 (2.87) is also an attractive option.

The Catalans have won each of their last four visits to the Estadio Mendizorroza by at least two goals and the price for a repeat offers value.
