The long-time partner of Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney is preparing to enter the Australian jungle. She will be doing so as the highest-paid star ever to appear on the programme, with a £1.5 million fee reportedly being pocketed.

Coleen admits to being “really anxious about leaving the kids” behind as she heads Down Under, but has added in a video posted on her personal Instagram account: “I've come to terms with it and I've planned and prepped, I've got an army of people - family and friends - school friends all helping out with the kids. They are going to be fine, they'll probably have a great time.”

It remains to be seen how much fun Coleen has after finally agreeing to join the I’m A Celeb cast. She claims to have been asked to go on the show “for years”, but always “put it off”. She is now taking the plunge and has addressed some of the speculation that she has been generating.

It had been claimed that arthritis would prevent Coleen from being eligible for a number of Bushtucker trials – which are voted for by the viewing public. She has said of those reports: “I can confirm I can do every trial, so I am not excluded from any. That was just a load of rubbish.”

WAG rival Vardy, who has graced I’m A Celeb herself in the past, may be among those hoping to see Coleen subjected to the toughest of trials – which often involve eating bugs or encountering all manner of snakes and spiders. Another of the interested spectators watching on from afar will be husband Wayne, as he remains on British shores after taking the managerial reins at Championship side Plymouth.
