WATCH: Sadio Mane’s wife Aisha Tamba receives hero’s welcome as 18-year-old returns to school the day after marrying Al-Nassr star - as he prepares for Senegal’s AFCON defence

Aisha Timba married Al-Nassr star Mane in a ceremony this month and made her return to school to resume her studies just a day later. The teenager was serenaded by her schoolmates as she waved to them in a video that has since emerged online via Senegalese outlet Senenews.

While his young wife returns home, Mane is in Cote d'Ivoire ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. The 31-year-old is looking to help fire Senegal to a second straight AFCON success, having scored the winning penalty in a shootout against Egypt in the final of the last competition in 2022.

Mane and his Senegal co-stars kick off their AFCON 2023 campaign with a game against Gambia on January 15. They are also in the same group as Cameroon and Guinea.
