  • Cottagers allowed lead to slip in final minutes
  • Denied a rare away win on Merseyside
  • Taking positives from run of goals
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

With there just three minutes of normal time left on the clock, Fulham found themselves leading a dramatic encounter 3-2 during their latest visit to Merseyside. Said tie was, however, to be turned on its head as Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold snatched a stunning victory for the hosts.

    WHAT REAM SAID

United States international Ream was unable to keep the Reds out, with the veteran defender saying of coming agonisingly close to inflicting a first home league defeat on Liverpool since Leeds achieved that feat in October 2022: “To let it slip away like we did, it was right there at our fingertips. To not come away with, at minimum, a point is frustrating. We were sitting in [the dressing room] thinking of what could have been.”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

While disappointment is the overriding emotion for Fulham at present, they are looking to take positives from scoring six goals in their last two Premier League games. USMNT star Ream added: “In the first eight of nine games, you are wondering where the goals are coming from. When you're not scoring the way we did last season and then you get two great goals from open play, one almost a carbon copy of one against Wolves, you see that you are doing the right things, getting in the right positions. That's important for us to recognise. The finishes are starting to happen, the goals are coming, and that is a good way to look at things.”

WHAT NEXT FOR REAM & FULHAM?

Fulham, who now sit 14th in the English top-flight table, will be back in action on Wednesday when welcoming Nottingham Forest to Craven Cottage.
