VIDEO: Mason Greenwood all smiles in ‘can you name’ challenge – with ex-Man Utd forward taking on England U21 star Jonathan Rowe in musicians, geography, English clubs & Marseille legends quiz

The former Manchester United forward has had plenty to celebrate since completing a £27 million ($35m) transfer from Old Trafford to France. He opened the 2024-25 campaign in spectacular style, with five goals recorded through three Ligue 1 appearances.

End product has dried up since then, leading to some uncomfortable questions being asked, but the 23-year-old winger retains unwavering faith in his own ability. He has mastered his art and knows all about the demands of life on the football field.

Off the pitch, Greenwood has seen his general knowledge put to the test. He went head-to-head in a training ground challenge that saw him compete with club colleague Rowe for the right to emerge victorious in a “can you name” quiz.

Greenwood ultimately came out on top as Rowe – who is on loan at Marseille from Norwich – was unable to name 17 English football clubs in 30 seconds. Their knowledge on musicians, countries in Europe and former Marseille players had already been put to the test.

Greenwood and Rowe have been unable to stop Marseille from dropping points in their last two fixtures, with a return to winning ways set to be sought when taking in a trip to Montpellier on October 20 – before reigning champions and bitter rivals Paris Saint-Germain pay a visit to Stade Velodrome a week later.
