WHAT HAPPENED?
The Red Devils are in California as part of their pre-season tour in the United States. Erik ten Hag’s side have based themselves in LA as they prepare for meetings with Premier League and La Liga opposition. Mainoo is being granted an extended break after helping England to the Euro 2024 final.

He did not figure at all in a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at SoFi Stadium and is not expected to be back until the Community Shield on August 10. The 19-year-old has, however, been keeping his eye in by enjoying a small-sided game by the ocean. Mainoo was happy to join in with local youngsters as they enjoyed a futsal contest on concrete.

Mainoo’s dancing feet left his young opponents chasing shadows, as he jinked his way through a couple of challenges, drove towards goal and finished in rabona style. The talented teenager is certainly looking sharp enough ahead of a return to action.
WHAT NEXT?
Mainoo enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2023-24, as he took in 32 appearances across all competitions – with his last delivering a goal in an FA Cup final win over Manchester City. He is also up to nine senior caps for his country and will be hoping to kick on in the 2024-25 season.
