Bayern looked to be heading to a 1-1 draw with fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt after goals from Klara Buhl and Laura Freigang before Lea Schuller grabbed the winner 13 minutes from time. After the match, England star Stanway was seen celebrating with her team-mates and the travelling Bayern fans in jubilant scenes.

The players and fans can be heard chanting, "Super Bayern, Super Bayern, hey, hey!" with Giulia Gwinn leading the way with a megaphone.

The result means Bayern stay four points clear of second-placed Wolfsburg in the Frauen-Bundesliga, although their rivals have a game in hand as they face RB Leipzig on Monday evening. Former Manchester City star Stanway, who joined Bayern in 2022, is hoping her side can defend the league title they won last season and they are in a strong position after 12 wins, three draws and no losses.

Bayern are next in action on Saturday at home to Leipzig in the league before a top of the table clash with Wolfsburg in their own backyard on March 23. The Bavarians secured the league title last season by two points and this campaign could go down to the wire as well.
