The veteran England international defender has sealed a switch to San Siro from Premier League title holders Manchester City. At 34 years of age, he is stepping out of his comfort zone in order to take on an exciting professional challenge.

Walker is, however, being prevented from making an immediate bow for the Serie A giants. That is because, as a result of Brexit taking the United Kingdom out of the European Union, the experienced full-back is waiting on a work permit.

That is expected to keep him stuck on the sidelines until early February, and potentially a derby date with Inter. For now, Walker has been rubbing shoulders with Milan legend and former Manchester United striker Ibrahimovic – who is an advisor to Milan’s ownership group.

Walker is looking forward to opening a new chapter in his career that also offers a clean slate for his family, who will soon be joining him in Italy. Wife Annie Kilner and their four children will be heading to Milan after seeing Walker father two children with his former mistress, ex-Love Island contestant Lauryn Goodman.
