Son Heung-min slams 'soft' Tottenham team-mates after Ange Postecoglou's side let 1-0 lead slip for fifth consecutive Premier League game

Following their collapse from leading the league by five points to falling out of the Champions League spots, Spurs were jeered off at the final whistle. With a 2-1 victory over Spurs that proved Ange Postecoglou's bubble burst, West Ham produced an incredible comeback led by goals from Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse. Son was replaced in the 88th minute of the West Ham encounter as he was unable to complete the match after a blow to his back.

Talking after the game, Son said [via The Daily Mail]: "Losing that game is unacceptable. We have got the lead five times in a row now. West Ham are always tough to play against but we were soft. In the Premier League, you don't know what will happen in the end. You have to kill a game. It's unacceptable. Players have to take responsibility – the fans don't deserve this.

"You have to play with more energy, especially at home. Whether we deserve it or not, we have to move on and bounce back. It's disappointing for the fans."

The Lilywhites have now gone from fighting for the title to fighting to stay in the Champions League spots this season, and Postecoglou believes that his side has lacked conviction, and refused to place the blame for the the losses on the club's lengthy injury list. The club has lost significant players during the course of the season including new signings James Maddison and Micky van de Ven.

After the match, Son also revealed that he felt that his injury was not too significant and that he could return to action as soon as their next game against Newcastle United on Sunday, December 10.
