  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

He has made an immediate impact with the Serie A leaders, registering seven goals, and a banner which reads "Napoli. McTominay. Pizza. In that order" can now be found hanging on the wall of a restaurant close to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

  • THE GOSSIP

According to the Daily Mail, McTominay is "enthralled by the city and the club", while asset manager partner Reading has "fallen in love with Italy" and is already being dubbed a "Queen" by passionate locals – meaning that her boyfriend can lay claim to being the King.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The Italian press have dubbed McTominay "the new leader of Napoli" and an "idol of the fans, loved by his team-mates". The 28-year-old midfielder is considered to have become "undroppable", while Reading is making the most of opportunities off the pitch to venture out to places such as Florence, Capri and Positano.

    TELL ME MORE

Former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Conte has helped McTominay to settle, with the Italian said to be handing out language lessons to imports from other countries. McTominay has said of breaking down that barrier: "Italian is not easy, because I speak fast. But whenever I listen to people in Italian, they speak very fast! I picked up little bits in training sessions, the hotel, in the city."

  • WHAT NEXT?

McTominay and Reading are reported to have moved into a house by Lago Patria, a coastal lake that is close to the beach and only a 20-minute drive to training. It is easy to see why the former United star is loving life at present and he has already admitted to having no regrets at bidding farewell to Old Trafford.
