In the closing stages of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/real-madrid-player-ratings-vs-valencia-vinicius-jr-jude-bellingham/bltbc113df3036b87a2" target="_blank">Real's wild 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday</a>, Diakhaby was injured in horrifying circumstances. As Aurelien Tchouameni ran into the box, he appeared to lose his balance and fell on Diakhaby, with his whole weight seemingly bending the Valencia defender's leg. All players on the pitch appeared genuinely distraught at the sight of the injury, and he needed to be stretchered off.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Valencia took a valuable point from the game, having taken a 2-0 lead. Hugo Duro and Roman Yaremchuk scored in the first half before a Vinicius Jr brace saw Real salvage a draw. But thoughts, naturally, will turn towards Diakhaby's health.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Diakhaby actually missed a chunk of the season due to a fracture in his leg, and he has now sustained another serious setback. It remains to be seen how long he will be out for, as Valencia will have to wait to determine the extent of the issue.
