Real Madrid, Man Utd or Barcelona? New report reveals which club has the most overseas fans as Premier League clubs dominate - and Tottenham set record in South Korea

A survey of supporters in eight countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia reveals that a whopping 86.7 per cent of football fans are interested in football abroad, with as many as 33% considering a foreign team to be their main one.

While the survey, conducted by Chiliz, shows European and Spanish champions Madrid have the biggest share of supporters from other countries, the Premier League is the dominant force in the list of top 10 clubs with overseas fans.

A total of six English top-flight teams are named in the top 10 teams with overseas appeal, with Tottenham proving surprisingly popular. The presence of Son Heung-min has seen a dramatic rise in their fandom in South Korea, where a total of 42.3% of respondents picked Spurs as their team - the largest share by a team in any particular country.

While Madrid and Barcelona have proven to be most popular around the world, the Premier League teams will hope to increase their appeal to global supporters in the coming years.
