‘Golden Club’ - Real Madrid fans revel as Linda Caicedo is awarded Golden Girl 2023 alongside Jude Belligham’s triumph

Despite her youth, Caicedo is one of the most talented footballers in the women's game at the moment. Upon turning 18, the Colombian youngster made 24 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions, scoring four goals.

The Madrid clubs pulled off a clean-sweep of the award, with Bellingham taking the glory in the men's division and Caicedo in the women's, leading some online fans to aptly name Los Blancos the "Golden Club".

For the 18-year-old Colombian, however, it's a continuation of her incredible rise over the past six months. She broke out at the 2023 FIFA World Cup for Colombia, helping lead them to the quarterfinals while also scoring hat was eventually voted Goal of the Tournament.

Caicedo was the first-ever footballer - male or female - to play in the U17, U20 and senior FIFA World Cup all in a one-year-span. She is also a childhood cancer survivor.

The ever-famous El Clasico derby is up next for Real Madrid, when they take on Barcelona on Sunday in Primera Division action.

Caicedo is set to go up against world superstar and Ballon d'Or winner Aitana Bonmati in a battle of the next prodigy in world football vs the queen of the game at the moment.
