  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kane netted another penalty as Bayern eased their way to a 5-0 victory over Hoffenheim, taking his goal tally for the season to 22 through as many appearances in all competitions. Things could not be going much better for the 31-year-old frontman at present.

  • WHAT KANE SAID

The same can be said for another ex-Spurs star, with Eric Dier celebrating his 31st birthday as Bayern restored their four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table. Kane said in a social media post toasting another good say for those at the Allianz Arena: “A perfect night at home and a happy birthday for @ericdier15.”

  • WHAT NEXT?

While Kane and Dier were enjoying themselves in Germany, Tottenham were suffering derby agony in England. Son Heung-min fired them in front against Arsenal, but the Gunners hit back to claim a 2-1 win that has piled more pressure on Australian coach Ange Postecoglou.
