Pep Guardiola and wife Cristina Serra to 'give marriage a second chance' after Man City boss spent three days in Barcelona on reconciliation mission following split

Reports by Catalan Newspaper El Nacional suggest Guardiola and Serra are 'prepared to give each other another chance' after spending time together in their Barcelona home last weekend. The pair announced their shock split in January, and it is believed they started divorce proceedings the following month.

Serra returned to Barcelona in 2019 with their youngest child to focus on her business interests; she is a successful entrepreneur in the fashion world. Guardiola's decision to pledge his future to City for another two seasons in November 2024 took his wife by surprise, which may have prompted the split. The latest reports suggest Pep will travel back to Catalunya at least once a week to avoid lengthy periods apart from his wife and child.

Guardiola and Serra first started dating in 1994, and married some twenty years later in 2014. The couple have three children together.

2024-25 has arguably been the toughest period of Pep's tenure in Manchester, especially when you consider the difficulties of his private life. Guardiola will have a keen eye on the remaining fixtures of this season as City still need to qualify for the Champions League, and will look to win the FA Cup.

But the Spaniard might also be looking forward to taking a break over the summer and spending more time with his loved ones. Although a month spent in the United States thanks to the Club World Cup might make that impossible.
