    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ekitike enjoyed a stellar 2024-25 season, notching 22 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. He helped fire Eintracht Frankfurt to Champions League qualification and has emerged as one of Europe’s top young forwards. Newcastle potentially see him as a future replacement for Alexander Isak, who is attracting interest from elite European sides.

Newcastle had been interested in signing Joao Pedro; however, with the Brazilian forward now off the market, Ekitike has moved to the top of Newcastle’s wishlist. Saudi Pro League sides Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah have also shown interest in the Frenchman, but the striker wants to stay in Europe and may have a preference for Premier League football.
