The Blues broke the bank last summer to sign Caicedo from Brighton as they paid a whopping £115m (€134) transfer fee to secure the services of the Ecuadorian. THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite spending a massive amount, Chelsea did not get the desired performance from the 22-year-old as he managed to score just once and provide four assists in 48 matches he played across all competitions. Caicedo, however, remains confident that the tactics of new manager Enzo Maresca will bring the best out of him in the upcoming 2024-25 season.

  • WHAT MOISES CAICEDO SAID

Speaking to reporters, the young midfielder said: "It was a difficult decision because you know Liverpool is a big team. But Chelsea were with me for a couple of months and I felt like I couldn't miss this move. They were with me in tough times when Brighton didn't want to let me go. It was a difficult decision, but 100% the right one."

When asked about his targets for the upcoming season under a new coach, Caicedo added to Chelsea's official website: "He plays like the same system that I played in Brighton. He wants the same. He wants me to show my quality, to have a good personality, and to show to my teammates that I am the boss on the pitch. For sure, I will be a good player with him."
