MEYBA and San Francisco City FC team up with Idle Worship to reimagine iconic 1994 USMNT 'Denim' kit

Spanish sportswear brand MEYBA has partnered with San Francisco City FC and local streetwear label Idle Worship to create a modern reimagining of the iconic 1994 US Men’s National Team “Denim” kit. This collaboration brings together MEYBA’s soccer heritage, San Francisco City FC’s community focus, and Idle Worship’s contemporary streetwear aesthetic to produce a unique jersey that pays homage to one of the most memorable designs in soccer history.

“Everyone wants the USMNT to remake the denim kit that was front and center when the United States hosted the World Cup for the first time in 1994. I think there’s a strong chance they’ll come out with one in 2026 when the World Cup is back here, but we want to beat them to the punch while also being authentic to San Francisco,” said Creative Director of San Francisco City FC, Ian Blackley.

The reimagined away jersey for San Francisco City FC blends denim aesthetics with Japanese craftsmanship. It features an indigo base adorned with custom sashiko patterns designed by Paulo Cui of Idle Worship. The front showcases diamond patterns, while the sleeves are accented with dots. The back incorporates a high-resolution scan of vintage linen.

Copper stitching throughout evokes classic denim jeans. The club's badge is recolored to resemble denim back patches. Red dotted lines on the knitted collar and cuffs mimic selvedge denim. A subtle nod to San Francisco's Japantown appears under the collar with the Peace Pagoda design.

Competing in the USL League Two, San Francisco City FC kick off their 2025 season on May 2 against San Juan FC at home in the NorCal Division before facing them again on the road on May 14.
