  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Grassroots clubs and youth teams held minute's silence in memory of the 10-year-old girl. A minute's of applause broke out during United's Women's FA Cup tie with Sunderland. After Leah Galton's early goal, the United players held up a shirt with Poppy's name on it as part of their celebration.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Poppy was taking part in a training session at Kendal Rugby Club in Cumbria when she was struck by a car. A 40-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released, but Cumbria police say an investigation was ongoing.

    Before the gesture on the field, Ella Toone paid tribute to Poppy on her Instagram account. Toone posted a story which read: "Heartbreaking. Sending all my love to the family at this sad time."
