    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In a nostalgic twist, Klopp will be making a return to the dugout for a one-off match at the iconic Signal Iduna Park on 7th September. This appearance will be part of a farewell event for two of Dortmund's most beloved players, Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski, both of whom were integral members of the squad during Klopp’s successful tenure at the club.

  • WHAT KLOPP SAID

Dortmund recently released a promotional video confirming Klopp's involvement in the event. In the video, Piszczek humorously initiates a video call with Blaszczykowski, saying, "Kollega, we have a farewell game, do you know that? We need a coach and I have an idea, we'll call the retired coach."

Klopp then entered the frame wearing black sunglasses and said: "You finally have your farewell game. Oh my god. And you want to train, are you stupid?"

When asked if he was going to manage one or both teams, Klopp added, "I couldn't care less. I do it like I used to, I start thinking about it five minutes beforehand."

The video ends with the phrase "Kloppo ist dabei," which translates to "Kloppo is there," confirming Klopp's participation in the tribute match for the Dortmund stars.

    WHAT NEXT?

Since he departed from Liverpool, Klopp has been linked with various managerial vacancies across Europe - including the position of England manager after Gareth Southgate stepped down. Despite these rumours, Klopp has maintained that he continues to be on a sabbatical and is enjoying his time away from the game.
