Harry Kane hits another landmark as England captain moves past Ronaldo Nazario and Zlatan Ibrahimovic with latest international goal

The 30-year-old frontman has been his country’s all-time leading scorer for some time, having become the first man to reach a half-century for the Three Lions. Kane continues to raise that historic bar to heights that few can dare to dream of reaching.

Kane’s latest strike came when stepping off the bench in a friendly date with Bosnia-Herzegovina at St James’ Park. He did not need long to make his mark in that contest, with the ball bundled home from close range in the 89th minute following a scramble inside the penalty area.

Kane has posted 63 goals for England through 90 appearances. He has clambered above some notable names on the international goal chart, with the Three Lions captain now boasting more efforts to his name than Brazilian World Cup winner R9 and enigmatic Swedish forward Ibrahimovic (both on 62).

There will be plenty of opportunities for Kane to improve his tally – starting with a friendly against Iceland on Friday, before moving into another major tournament at Euro 2024 – but he is unlikely to get anywhere close to Cristiano Ronaldo’s record-breaking haul of 128 goals for Portugal.
