THE BIGGER PICTURE
In recent weeks, Sane has shown visible improvement in his performances, although his end product has left a lot to be desired. As things stand, the Bavarians have not yet offered a new deal to the Germany international, and that is unlikely to change before the end of summer. However, Sane is believed to share a cordial relationship with Bayern sporting direct Max Eberl. The 29-year-old will have to take a massive pay cut (he currently earns around €20m per year) in order to prolong his career at the Allianz Arena.
DID YOU KNOW?
Sane has attracted interest from England, with Arsenal reportedly considering a move for the Bayern Munich winger. According to the report, Arteta, who is familiar with Sane from his time as Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City, sees him as a potential addition. The north London club are looking to add depth to their forward line, and with Sane set to become a free agent, he could be an ideal fit.
