Conte is considered to be an alternative option for Bayern if they miss out on top target Xabi Alonso – who remains tied to a contract at Bayer Leverkusen and would require a sizeable compensation fee to be paid out in order to get a deal done.

The fiery Italian has savoured title success in the past with Chelsea, Juventus and Inter.
