  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Any hope of finding the target in three successive games came crashing down inside 22 minutes against FC Twente. Booth was clearly in some discomfort midway through the first half, with it quickly becoming apparent that he was in no fit state to continue.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Booth had to be helped from the field by Utrecht medical staff, with his head bowed as he trudged down the touchline. Club and country will be hoping that the issue is not too serious, with the USMNT having the CONCACAF Nations League finals and Copa America to look forward to in 2024.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Utrecht were able to get the job done without Booth, as they claimed a 1-0 win, and they are now 14 games unbeaten in the Eredivisie – the club’s best run since 1991. Booth will be hoping that he is not ruled out of efforts to extend that run even further.
