According to Ekstrabladet, the 33-year-old has reportedly hired one of the most prominent law firms in Spain to help him buy La Liga team Espanyol - a side he played for between 2022-24, terminating his contract in the summer before joining Gremio. The report adds the Danish international holds a 'grudge' against the club's current owners.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Gremio striker Braithwaite, who helped Espanyol return to La Liga as they were promoted through the play-offs earlier this year, is said to be a critic of the club's owners - the Rastar Group. They are reportedly not very popular with fans which could open the window for the ex-Barca attacker.
DID YOU KNOW?
Braithwaite is not coming to this out of the blue as he is a successful businessman. He owns a real estate company in the United States, a restaurant, and a clothing company.
