Erling Haaland reaches 100! Man City striker leaves Alan Shearer, Eric Cantona & Mohamed Salah in his wake as he hits incredible milestone at fastest rate in Premier League history

After scoring a penalty against Brighton on Saturday, the Manchester City forward boasts of having 84 goals and 16 assists in just 94 appearances, becoming the fastest to ever reach the milestone in Premier League history. Previously, Shearer held the record, reaching the 100-mark in 100 games back in 1995. Other Premier League icons, including Cantona and Salah (116 matches each), Sergio Aguero (118) and Thierry Henry (121), all trail behind the Norwegian’s remarkable feat.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, Haaland has claimed the Premier League Golden Boot twice, leading City to back-to-back league titles. His debut season in 2022-23 was nothing short of spectacular, as he netted 36 goals, setting the record for the highest single-season tally in the competition’s history. He became the first player ever to win the Premier League Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season in the same year. Additionally, he was named FWA Footballer of the Year, underlining his immense influence in City’s treble-winning season.

Haaland continues to be the main attacking force for Pep Guardiola’s side, delivering 21 goals in 28 Premier League appearances this season. However, he trails Liverpool's Salah in the Golden Boot race as the Egyptian has 27 strikes to his name after 29 matches.

Haaland will be back in action with City in the FA Cup quarter-final against Bournemouth on March 30.
